Picexa Viewer is a simple and straightforward application that lets you browse image collections and view pictures of various formats. In fact, the very large number of supported formats is one of the main advantages offered by this handy program. Picexa Viewer supports more than 60 image file formats, including common raster ones like PNG, BMP, and JPEG, but also Photoshop's PSD or even RAW photo formats.
Picexa Viewer is also very easy-to-use. Its interface is neat and intuitive, allowing even complete beginners to conveniently browse and view photos. Anyway, very few additional options are available. The users can only zoom in and out the photos and rotate them. There are no other settings, functions, or features, and that's quite disappointing. Besides the support for many file formats I really don't see any other good reason why would one want to download and use this tool instead of the Windows' default image viewer.
If you only want to view common image file formats, then there's no reason left at all to try this tool, unfortunately. Anyway, Picexa Viewer is free, so if you feel otherwise and you want to give this tool a try for yourself, then it won't cost you a thing and you have nothing to lose. It's also small, lightweight, and easy to install. Just be aware that it will not ask you for permission before it will also change your file associations for images so that they open with Picexa Viewer when you double-click them. On the other hand, uninstalling it is fast and easy too.
